NASA 2021: The returning to the Moon

Hey there! If like me, you are a huge nerd, watch sci-fi films all the time and often ask yourself the question: "when will this all happen"? Well, then you are in luck my friend! I am going to introduce you to all the amazing plans NASA has for this glorious 2021.

Introduction

I mean you could just watch the video they posted on Youtube or the official NASA website but thanks for coming (please don't leave)!

Anyway lets begin the NASA space program; They want to send humans back to the Moon, finally after all these decades of almost complete inactivity! And the crew won't be only boys, that's right, props for the first woman on the Moon! With the spaceship the astronauts also  want to launch a brand new thing called Gateway, but I'm not going to spoil to much ;). The rover Perseverance is also going to land on Mars in February of this year. Wow so many things! Let's split them up and talk of them individually.

Artemis Missions

The first of the three Artemis missions is going to bring humans on the Moon with the first woman on the Moon, the astronauts will settle base for further human exploration on the Moon and on Mars. Jeez! But the best part is the rocket; 4 brave astronauts are going to sit in the Orion (which is a fancy name for the crew module and other parts like the service module for food and the launch abort system, in case things go south very quickly). Then, under the Orion we have some good old polluting fuel. It is the most powerful rocket ever created, but the only thing I can focus on is the nice and bright orange colour!
The Artemis logo.

                                                    The Gateway
The Gateway will be an expandable "thing" that will orbit around the Moon, allowing to get bigger and more populated as partnerships develop and new space buddies are made. The Gateway will allow the possibility of more missions at once, crazy stuff. Finally even a Gen Z like me can see a Moon landing on live, without crappy footage.

Well, that was everything you should know about the Artemis missions. Now let's get into the more chill stuff.

Rover Perseverance

On the Martian front we are taking our first steps for an interplanetary society. Although SpaceX is far more hot on Mars than NASA, it doesn't lack in dead rovers that are on Mars, and thats exactly why they want to send another one to observe the same red hills than the other two, business baby! Jokes apart, on the official NASA page they have a really neat countdown of when the rover will land on the red planet. I will put a link at the end so you can see it tic down, if, like me, you don't have anything better to do... Anyway, the rover will take some pictures and that's it really.

James Webb Telscope

This big boy is far better than the average lens you used as a kid to starr at grass or at innocent insects. Nostalgic memories aside this telescope will allow humans to see deep into space, more than ever before, and see new galaxies being created on the spot.

You can recognize it by looking at the yellow panels.

For the 3 people reading this I want to say that I had a lot of fun creating this post, and that you should stay tuned because I am planning of making  another one about Elon Musk and his plans to colonize Mars (that man is crazy). Emotional speech done now, you can go, bye!
